Burnmaster Eagle PRO Review
Several years ago, I upgraded from the Walnut hollow Creative Versa pyrography pen to the more versatile Burnmaster Eagle PRO from mastercarversupply.com. What an upgrade it has been. The walnut hollow pen works great as an inexpensive way to get started with pyrography. When you are ready to increase the possibilities, and increase the quality of your work, get one of these.
I have used this pen so much. I have used several of the tips. Because of this, I have replaced some tips I use most often. I have found that the Razortip pens run just fine using the conversion kit. This really increases options for you since both styles of pens and tip systems work without any problems.
The tips I find myself using the most are the spoon shader, the blade, and the round wire. I like to use the pen to carve while Woodburning. Because of this, I run my pens hot, and put more pressure than I should. This has caused them to bend over time. Especially the spoon shader. Upgrading to a heavy dedicated razortip pen with fixed tips makes a huge difference for sure.
A little tip..no pun intended…pick yourself up the Storehouse 15 bin parts storage case. It is a great way to organize all your woodburning pen accessories.
The eagle burnaster pro has two pens, variable voltage, holders, and a pen switch. Once plugged in and turned on. You select the pen you want to use, adjust your heat setting, and wait a few seconds. This thing can really heat up tips to a bright red hue quickly. The heat settings go from 1 to 10. I find myself usually between 3 and 6 depending on what I am doing. It heats right up quickly and it also cools off quickly. This can allow you to work quickly and efficiently. Changing tips is as easy as loosening 2 screws. While waiting for the pens to heat up, they sit comfortable in a wire stand. This is a great touch and much appreciated.
The case is durable metal that does not get hot. The switches feel snappy and secure. The knob to adjust the power feels smooth and quality. Did I mention that I love this pen?
I use the eagle pro burn master all the time and highly recommend it to someone looking to get serious about pyrography. It is a joy to use and can power through large project or perform the light touches that take your work to the next level
